Laser 3

Therapeutic lasers supply energy to the body in the form of photons of light. Light is transmitted through the skin’s layers (the dermis, epidermis and the subcutaneous tissue under the skin). However, the wavelength of the Class IV Laser allows these photons to travel deep into the body; up to 6-8 inches. And that is where deep seated pain hides out.

When laser light penetrates deeply into the body, it stimulates damaged cells to start producing ATP. ATP is the “fuel” or energy source that all cells need to function and repair. Interestingly, laser therapy has no effect on healthy cells.

When damaged cells have the energy they need to function properly again, they can start the repair process. If cells can’t repair themselves properly, according to studies done by the International Association for the Study of Pain, people with injuries continue to suffer with pain that never goes away.

Laser therapy accelerates the healing of injured areas, decreases inflammation, and eliminates pain allowing patients to quickly return to normal activities.
